Tandulwadi is a fort located at Saphale in Maharashtra State's Palghar District. The view of the Vaitarna and Surya rivers from the top of the fort is one of the main highlights of this trek, as for the fortification not much is left except for few walls and stone relics.
One has to first trek from the village of Tandulwadi to a flat plateau, which forms the base of the fort. It is for there that two routes diverge which will take you to the top of the fort.

The trail starts on the right side of a lake present at the end of Tandulwadi village.
One has to first trek from the village of Tandulwadi to a flat plateau, which forms the base of the fort.
The short and tough route takes you to the top of the fort from the south end of the fort. So try to find a path heading towards the south end of the fort after reaching the plateau.
You will encounter a rock patch and steeps slopes on this route.You can ascend via this route and descend by the other route, that way you will explore the entire fort.

There are S.T buses at 1 hour intervals from Saphale station heading towards Tandulwadi village. The first bus is at 7:00 am.
Note: the bus does not come to the bus stop, you can board the bus from the east of Saphale station.

The trail starts for the village of Tandulwadi. The trail starts on the right side of a lake present at the end of Tandulwadi village.
One has to first trek from the village of Tandulwadi to a flat plateau, which forms the base of the fort.
The gradual and easy route takes you to the top from the north end of the fort. So try to find a path heading towards the north end of the fort after reaching the plateau.
You will have to walk the entire length of this plateau towards the northside before you will get the ascend route to the fort. You will even encounter steps towards the end of the ascend.
