Sarasgad was used to keep a watch on Pali and the surrounding areas, as Pali was an important region during the Maratha era.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had spent 2000 Hons for fortification of Sarasgad. Till independence, this fort was under the Bhor Sansthan.
Pali is a pilgrimage place for one out of the eight “Ashtavinayak” Ganesh Temples is also the place where Lord Ganesh of Pali is named ‘Ballaleshwar’.

The trail from Pali starts from behind the “Ashtavinayak” Ganesh Temple. The route is well marked and is a gradual climb. A series of steps will take you inside the fort through Dindi Darwaza.
Once inside the fort, you will have to go few steps towards the right and climb up before you see a cave.
After the cave, a route from the left will take you to the BalleKilla.

Head towards Nagothane Railway station via an Train

ETA 2.5 hrs

Take a train from Diva or Panvel railway station to Nagothane by boarding Diva - Roha Passenger train.
There is a train available at 7:00 am at Panvel.
One can even reach Khopoli and take an S.T bus having a stop at Pali, this option is good while returning back.

Head towards Pali via Bus/Private Vehicle (Tum - Tum)

Once you reach Nagothane, there are share autos plying from there to Pali.
